Organizations Supported

All the proceeds of the donations, after the costs of making the film, will be distributed among various Foundations and Organizations.

The Jack Fanning Memorial Foundation, “Angels For Autism”

jack_fanningThe Jack Fanning Memorial Foundation is a not for profit group comprised of concerned families and friends of children with autism. This organization was founded in memory of FDNY Battalion Chief Jack Fanning, who perished in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001. Jack understood, first hand, the desperate need for research and educational requirements for families dealing with autism; because he left behind 2 severely autistic sons, Sean and Patrick.

Two weeks before the attacks on our country, Jack thoughtfully discussed his desire to open a Group Home for children with autism to his wife, Maureen. In the weeks after, it became apparent that his final wish would become this group’s passion. We are firmly committed to providing the autistic population with additional resources that help to advance them in becoming productive citizens. Establishing a group home in Jack’s memory is our primary goal, but the work will not stop there. There are many opportunities for this Foundation to make an immediate difference in the life of those afflicted with autism.

Autism is a developmental disability typically appearing in children by age three. It often interferes with their ability to communicate, socialize, play and relate to the world around them. Autism and its behaviors have been estimated to occur in as many as 2 - 6 in 1,000 individuals making it the fastest growing disability in America (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2001). It is increasing at an alarming rate of 10 - 17% a year and there is presently no known cause or cure.

Early detection and prompt treatment can enable children across the entire autism spectrum to assume meaningful and productive lives. The Jack Fanning Memorial Foundation is committed to providing the autistic community with the necessary research and educational opportunities needed to advance their lives. Please help us in pursuit of Jack's dream.

It is the intent of this organization to fulfill Jack's final wish. Those who knew Jack remember a patient, humble - yet heroic man, who had a genuine love for people and mankind. The qualities that he possessed will be the cornerstone upon which this dream will be build. The foundation has been laid and we remain confident of the outcome.

The Dennis P. McHugh Foundation

dennis_mchughThe Dennis P. McHugh Foundation was established by Dennis' family and friends to ensure that his legacy lives on in as dignified a fashion as he himself lived his own life! His wife’s quote from the home page really succinctly sums up the importance that this library represents for Dennis’ three children in so many ways.

Dennis was a firm believer in the importance of education and regularly took his daughter to local libraries as part of their daily routine.  This library will always serve as a deep token of our love for Dennis, his love for life, and as a means of giving back to the local community that has been very supportive during these very difficult times.

There are no words that can describe the love and admiration that others had for Firefighter Dennis P. McHugh (Engine 22 Ladder 13). Dennis had such an optimistic outlook on life that instantly made everyone in his presence put a smile on his or her face, regardless of the situation.  Dennis had a remarkable quiet confidence that reflected his happiness with himself, his three adorable children, and Una his wife.

dennis_mchugh_foundation-8bThe foundation is a recognized non-profit public charity that has received its 501©(3) status, consequently all donations are tax deductible.  Anyone interested in viewing any of the supporting documentation regarding the foundation should feel free to contact us, we will gladly oblige.

The Thomas R. Elsasser Fund

The Thomas R. Elsasser Fund was established in 1992 to support the families of NYC Firefighters who died Non-Line of Duty as active members of the FDNY.

With your help we can support the many families that do not have access to the more lucrative financial benefit packages that the families of members who have made the Supreme Sacrifice do.

The funds are used to help with medical costs, housing and repairs and school tuitions to name a few.
